BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (AP) –

Brunswick County is warning residents of potential scams that may target people impacted by Hurricane Florence. 

In a Friday news release, Brunswick County made it clear that the county is not endorsing any contractors or vendors, and Brunswick County Public Utilities has not authorized vendors to make repairs to utility lines on their behalf. 

Residents should be aware that scammers often target people impacted by disaster and large weather events, according to Brunswick County.
